"What a fantastic experience. We were blessed with excellent weather and were made to feel extremely welcome by the club members. "Today I had 2 great flights with wonderful views and caught some thermals above Eggborough. Both pilots talked me through the controls and all that was happening during takeoff/flight/landing, they let me take control for a bit. Clearly they enjoy what they do and are enthusiastic to give others the opportunity to enjoy gliding.

Everyone was friendly and interested in talking to newcomers and sharing a few stories. The club organised it really well considering it was a very busy day for them."

"This was my first flight in a glider and it was an unbelievable feeling, I cant wait to go back and have another go. It was surprisingly easy to fly, very sensitive and responsive controls. I went up in a two seater with an excellent instructor doing the flying. I was sat in the front and we were towed to 2000ft by plane i got to take the controls for a while. Well worth the trip out to burn gliding club and excellent experience worth every penny."

I didn't fly at Burn, but I'd like to thank the club members that provided me informations and directions about WW2 memorials at Burn and at Balkholme.

The Balkholme memorial for the two Halifaxes that collided in flight was very interesting.
